Mabway Maritime, in partnership with 3M Scott Safety, has successfully delivered a two week training package to Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel on the construction, fitting, repair and testing of the General Service Respirator evolution (GSRe) respiratory protection mask.
An advanced respirator that gives a higher level of protection against Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) threats than other negative pressure respirators, the GSR is also used by UK Armed Forces as part of its respiratory protection system.
"Mabway is very pleased to contribute to the delivery of this key personal safety training course for the RSNF. Working in successful collaboration with our delivery partners, Mabway Maritime has added great value to the supply chain by delivering a specialist DSAT compliant course using our ex-RN service instructors," said Director of Maritime Training, Ray Thomson.
It is envisaged that the successful pilot course may lead to further training packages from 3M Scott, as part of a broader BAE Systems requirement.
